Pretty Little Thing called Podcast…

As you guys can see, this is my second post involving a fast fashion online retailer, I think this is an indication regarding my obsession for online shopping…

I bet you guys are familiar with the word podcasts, and perhaps enjoy listening to them. According to an article published by fastcompany, there are over 525,000 active shows and 18.5 million episodes. Moreover, an article by variety stated that apple podcasts features more than 500,000 active podcasts, including content in more than 100 languages. Is this huge? You might ask, and the answer is YES definitely and not to mention that those numbers are climbing daily!

For those of you who are not familiar with podcasts and its usage to businesses, it is basically part of a content marketing format, and

Content marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.”

No wonder Pretty Little Thing came up with an idea to start a podcast channel “behind closed doors”, turns out it is due to the geographic coverage and its growing effectiveness. The podcasts are featured in various platforms such as, iTunes, Spotify, Acast, and youtube. Its contents include inviting famous influencers to share their stories, like Nikita Dragon who is known as a transgender. Their podcasts topics and theme really reflect their brand, as they talked and discussed about feminism, #GirlPower, body shaming, and many more.

  1. It was surprising to me when I realised that so many young people are still into podcasts. It was once so popular around like 2008 and now people are starting to listen to podcasts again! I guess trends are always like a loop isn’t it?
