There is a new market gap to fill people, TRUST. Are there gonna be companies developing an app or any kind of solution to fix this? Data privacy is what i’m talking about. Everyone of you would have the at least some kind of experience I reckon.
The rise of data privacy awareness in the internet has been escalating… But I must say, I think I am in that 2% when it comes to choosing an app.
Still, not everyone wants to put the effort to understand more about one’s privacy policy. Moreover, people are shifting to ‘sometimes’. Well, who can blame them? Sometimes it takes quite an effort to take action, which is reading through lines and lines and lines of the privacy policy.
But, apple has created a “sign in with apple” feature in its latest iOS 13. This aims to minimise all the junk mails, spam, and hassle to sign in to apps and websites. Additionally and most importantly, it aims to increase the security of your personal information. By signing up to apps and websites using this apple feature, it allows the developers to only see your name and email address. BUT here’s the catch, you can also choose to hide your email address and this option will let apple to provide the website and the developers a unique random email address in which they communicate through, and apple will delete the messages after delivery or after a short while if undeliverable.
In short, apple has created an invisible border line in the algorithm world, where no websites and apps can pass through to reach our personal information. “The entire authentication process is handled by a separate window and done through Apple so the website never sees your Apple ID.”
I think this is a powerful advantage in terms of apple’s USP, it does make them look more advanced and relatable. But to what extent are they reliable? Is apple creating this feature to gain competitive advantage? Business expansion? Personal data usage? Planned obsolescence?
What do you think of this feature? Are you with apple or against? Comment down below!

This function is convenient, but Apple must ensure that they can protect the user’s personal information, if not it would be a diaster.

So true.. I feel this can be a controversial topic. Whether apple is creating this feature for their own benefits or to provide security to customers.

Personally I must pessimistically say that I don’t really care about privacy issues because my concerns won’t change the truth that they do collect privacy information for commercial purposes. Hopefully we can trust in the future perfection of information laws and regulations.
